Barry brings alive the characters of Harpers Ferry from his first hand accounts from 1840-1905. Living among the townspeople he tells of John Brown’s Raid and the Civil War. He also includes a few tales from the surrounding villages in the county. Originally published in 1903, this 50th anniversary edition was reprinted by the Women’s Club of Harpers Ferry.
